I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Maryland. Over the past 15 years, I have worked professionally as a public relations writer, a technical copy editor, a high school English teacher, and a photographer.

As a freelance writer (and, in general, a lover of people and places), I have published human interest articles in The Baton Rouge Advocate, The South Baton Rouge Journal, LSU Alumni Magazine, and Baltimore’s Music Monthly. As a photographer, I have worked with non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Avalon Foundation, an arts organization on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

While I keep busy as a wife and mother of three, I also enjoy being involved in community outreach. I am a parent volunteer at St. Matthew’s Episcopal School in Houma and a member of the Houma chapter of Junior Auxiliary, a women’s service organization focused on the needs of the citizens of Terrebonne Parish.
